DAY 4 OF 4
This last day will start very early.
This last day will start very early. We will wake you up around 5:00 am for breakfast and then take one of the first buses to get on to Machu Picchu. There are two good reasons to be at the entrance of Machu Picchu very early:
1.- It is worth the effort to get up early, since the Inca city is quieter in the early morning, also you will have enough time to take photos and enjoy the sunrise over Machu Picchu.
2.- Our guide will give you a tour of Machu Picchu telling you the history of the Inca city, temples, altars, and most important sites. Of course, it will also take you to the classic viewpoint of Machu Picchu (The Hut of the Sacred Rock), this point offers a spectacular view of the entire Inca city. After that, you will have free time to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu. The steep mountain overlooking the bottom of Machu Picchu. (optional and at an extra cost).

Check your date ↗The Inca Jungle Trek is an alternative trekking route that combines the incredible of walking a path full of vegetation in the Cusco jungle with extreme outdoor activities such as biking, rafting, and zipline. Enjoy a warm and humid climate until you visit the world wonder known as Machu Picchu.
In contrast to the Inca Trail with its exclusive archaeological sites, the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu is a more adventurous journey, with outdoor activities, ideal for travelers who like extreme sports. Adding the tour through crops, trails full of vegetation, and the opportunity to know Machu Picchu.
Compared to other trekking routes this is done at less than 3,000 meters and although in the Inca Jungle tour 4 days 3 nights, we will reach different elevations. Start the trek at an altitude of approximately 4,600 masl/15,215 feet in the Malaga Pass (the highest point of the tour), during the journey, we will descend to 1,250 msnm/4,101 feet, which is reached once we reach Santa Maria and we perform the activity of canoeing.
Throughout the Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu, you will face challenges such as warm weather and possible rains because you will find through in the middle of the Cusco jungle. You should take into account the appropriate clothing such as waterproof jackets and trekking shoes, follow the recommendations of the professional guide in charge, and have a standard level of physical resistance since this trail is considered from easy to moderate level.
Although the trail is not considered extremely challenging, we recommend performing previous training exercises such as regular small walks, cardiovascular exercises, and muscle strengthening. These exercises will help you to have greater resistance to the physical effort to overcome the long hours of continuous trekking will help you to have a more comfortable and pleasant experience.
The Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu begins as soon as we get off our transport in the Malaga Pass, from where we will start with the descent by bike through this incredible trail, crossing arid terrain of the mountain, then walk through dense areas of vegetation and finally reach Machu Picchu.
Note: Remember that this tour starts from the pick up of your hotel and ends at the return in Cusco.
This trail does not usually have complications when booking, as it is not as famous and crowded as the Inca Trail, so you will not have to worry about finding a space to travel this trail, However, it is highly recommended to consult with our sales agents, who will inform you of the updated availability and the ideal dates to make this trek.
The Inca Jungle trek does not require permits, however, to enjoy a safe and formal adventure, it is essential to hire the services of a travel agency like Inkayni Peru Tours. Ensure services such as transport, and outdoor activities (biking, rafting, and zipline) with trained staff from the beginning to the end of the tour.
While it is true that the availability to perform the Inca Jungle Trek is not limited, the recommendation is to make your reservation as soon as possible or 3 months before your chosen date, since the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu is a famous trekking route and maintains a stable level of demand. This ensures a space for activities such as rafting and zipline.
Yes, it is essential to deposit to reserve a space in the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu, for which you must contact our sales agents and check the availability of your favorite date.
After availability for the Inca Jungle trek has been confirmed for the requested date, it is essential to deposit 40% of the total amount of the trek to ensure your trip. Deposits can be made by credit or debit card, bank transfer, Western Union, and PayPal.
Once the payment has been made, the reservation will be confirmed by email to the email you provided during the booking.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to make changes to the dates once the reservations have been confirmed, this is because the entrance tickets to Machu Picchu are purchased as a priority, and are not transferable or refundable. It is therefore crucial to make sure you select the correct dates when booking.
It is important to note that once the deposit has been made for the Inca Jungle for 4 days and 3 nights, this amount is used to acquire the entry permit to the Archaeological Complex of Machu Picchu and ensure all the necessary services for the tour on the date requested. And if it is canceled, this amount cannot be recovered.
The main difference between these versions is apart from techniques such as duration, cost, and difficulty. The classic requires a somewhat higher resistance, as you will travel a hiking area in the middle of dense vegetation and growing areas on day 02.
On the other hand, the Inca Jungle trek for 3 days, is designed for those travelers who want to travel this trail faster, giving you an experience of more adventure without the hiking part that offers the classic version on day 02.
The main reason to spend 2 to 3 days in the city of Cusco (3,399 m) before making the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu, is acclimatization during this time you can take the opportunity to walk around the city or take one of the following tours, that will help you acclimate much faster.
City Tour Cusco: explore the city of Cusco with an afternoon guided tour.
Sacred Valley + Chinchero Tour: if you do this tour and plan to stay in Ollantaytambo, we will organize your pick-up at this place, with prior coordination with our travel agents, to start your hike through the Inca Jungle trek.
Southern Valley Tour: explore the route south of Cusco as you acclimate to the altitude of the Andes.
It’s an almost impossible event to happen, but in the curious event that we fail to find a space on its required date, our sales agents will contact you to offer you alternative dates or alternate versions like the Inca Jungle trek 3 days or we can also offer you alternate trek routes, which are amazing and can give you a dream experience.
04 Days Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 03 Days Huchuy Qosqo Hike 04 Days Walk in Lares 04 Days Adventure in the Inca Jungle 05 Days Walk of Salkantay
In contrast to other agencies that operate with numerous groups, Inkayni Peru Tours offers you the experience of trekking in small groups of only 10 people. This is done to ensure a more personalized and comfortable experience at all times.
The best season to make the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu, is during the dry season, which covers from April to October, since during this season the days are sunny and the possibility of rains is almost zero, something that significantly helps to have a quiet and safe experience during the journey. However, since the trail crosses much of the Cusco jungle, the rains could occur at any time.
However, it is important to consider that, from November to March, the trail has a lower influx of travelers, due to rain. It's something that positively affects the flora of the trail, is ideal if you are an enthusiastic nature traveler.
There are no age-specific restrictions or rules for performing the Inca Jungle trek, however, at Inkayni Peru Tours as a responsible travel agency, we will only accept reservations for children aged 12 and over, as long as parents take full responsibility for them throughout the walk.
Therefore, children under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and for passengers from 60 years to older, it is recommended to have good health and physical state.
To ensure an optimal adaptation to the altitude and minimize the symptoms of altitude sickness that may happen during the trek, we advise you to spend at least two days in the city of Cusco before starting your adventure.
The probability of suffering symptoms of altitude sickness is almost zero because the path does not cross elevations greater than 3000 meters, except for the time when we cross the Abra Malaga (more than 4,000 meters), which would be the time when altitude sickness is most likely to occur. But it is always recommended not to exceed its limits, stay hydrated, and at the first symptom, communicate it to the guide in charge, who is trained to help him.
At Inkayni Peru Tours we consider the importance of varied, nutritious, and above all delicious food, so we offer a wide variety of foods in the Inca Jungle trek. That is why we will offer you 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners, and 3 happy hours so that you recover all the energy of the trek and at the same time enjoy a culinary experience of the highest level.
If you are vegetarian, vegan, or otherwise, you must inform us to ensure a personalized dining experience.

Note: if you have not yet canceled the remaining balance of the trek, you can do so during this meeting.
We only recommend you have a good-sized backpack (30 liters) to carry everything you need during activities and trekking. Each participant carries their own backpack.
